Happy Earth Day 2013!

Posted on: April 17th, 2013 by fara

Earth Day will be here before we know it.  Last year several High Country Kombucha employees joined the “Meatless Mondays” campaign and committed to not eat any meat products one day each week to cut down on their carbon footprints.  Here are some employee comments from the past year:

“I never thought it would be so easy, my family will keep doing this for years to come!”

“I thought I’d get sick of eating salads but I had all sorts of great options”

“We had so many meatless options at local restaurants & delis that I never had to pack a lunch.”

Meatless Earth day Kombucha Tea Party

We had no idea how much we would enjoy this trip down the rabbit hole and we encourage everyone to join the Meatless Monday Kombucha Tea party this year.  You will shrink your carbon footprint while contributing to the 2 billion Acts of Green Earth Day goal.

If you’re already doing this campaign you can go to the earthday.org website for more great ideas.

A very merry un-birthday, to everyone of you!  Unless of course it is in fact your birthday.

Denver Farmer’s Markets 2013

Posted on: March 4th, 2013 by fara

It’s hard to believe we only have six short weeks until the ski season ends in the Vail Valley.  Personally, I’m still hoping for one more powder day and a really prominent goggle sunburn before winter wraps up and mud season starts.

High Country Kombucha has received one definite sign of spring’s imminent arrival this week, the reminder to register for this year’s Farmers Markets in Denver.

We’ve decided to continue with the two markets we participated in last summer and we hope to see many of you return with your logo growlers.  If you haven’t gotten your 64 oz. refillable growler yet, please come see us this summer and change the way your kombucha addiction affects the world by cutting down on glass recycling.  You can use any 64 oz. glass container for High Country Kombucha on tap at Farmers Markets, we don’t discriminate.  We refill growlers from a keg and we have a list of stores that currently carry our product on tap so refills are not limited to just the Farmers Markets on the weekends.  This is High Country Kombucha tea as fresh as you can possibly get it so plan on making the switch to a growler this summer.

If you’re not ready to make that commitment yet, you will still be able to buy ice cold 16 oz. bottles of tea and sample any flavor we have on tap at both markets.

South Pearl Street Farmer’s Market will take place every Sunday May 19 – November 3rd.  That’s 25 fun-filled Sundays starting at 9 am – 1 pm.  You can find more info by visiting the website, www.SouthPearlStreet.com

Highland Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday June 1 – October 12th.  That’s 20 amazing Saturdays on the 1500 Block of Boulder Street in Denver, beginning at 9 am through 1 pm. For more information go to their website, www.denverhighland.org

Two recent articles in the Vail Daily

Posted on: January 15th, 2013 by fara

The employees of High Country Kombucha live, work & play in the Vail valley in Eagle County, Colorado.  This is not a cheap place to live, or to own a business but we do have some great perks like a valley wide newspaper that runs occasional stories about local businesses.  Check out the latest article about High Country Kombucha by clicking HERE

The second article in the Vail Daily reviewed functional beverages as a category and you can link to that article HERE

We agree that drinking sodas is ‘so last decade’ and want to point out that kombucha tea has more probiotic content than most yogurt found on the shelves.  We want to thank the Vail Daily for the exposure and hope that it encourages many who read it to try our High Country brand of kombucha tea.

Support the Broncos this Saturday!

Get your brunch on this Saturday at the Nooch Market on Larimer street in Denver.  Our representative will be there with plenty of High Country Kombucha tea.  Enjoy the brunch, the tea and the fabulous company before the Broncos game in the afternoon.

Go Broncos!  Don’t miss the divisional playoff madness this Saturday afternoon at 2:30 PM in Denver.  If you can’t go in person then be glued to the set or cheering them on at your favorite sports bar.

We have a few pics to share from the late December game against the Browns and we couldn’t be more excited about the playoffs!  Some of us our already dreaming about the Superbowl, Go Broncos!

Vail Turns 50 – Happy Birthday!

Posted on: December 19th, 2012 by fara

Last weekend was a big milestone for the Town of Vail and everyone at High Country Kombucha wishes them a happy 50th!  Many of us went to the concerts that took place all weekend and the fun events.  We even got free commemorative cupcakes;

Governor Hickenlooper spoke at the event on Saturday afternoon at the base of the new skier gondola.

Following the speeches, Vail had an impressive fireworks display right over the ski mountain & gondola;

Vail also handed out hot chocolate in cute little ski boot shaped mugs at the Saturday event.  Can you guess what favorite beverage I’ll be drinking out of my mug this season?

Thanks for throwing a fun party, Vail.  Congrats on 50 years.  Happy Holidays to everyone!

Vegan Brunch in Denver

Posted on: November 27th, 2012 by fara

The Nooch Market at 3360 Larimer is having a vegan brunch on Sunday, December 2nd from 11 AM to 2 PM.

High Country Kombucha will be available & we hope that not only vegans will attend.  Come for the healthy, probiotic drink and stay for the delicious vegan meal.  Don’t tell my local organic livestock farmer I said so, but aren’t we all at least a little vegan-curious?  Live the dream and try a vegan meal, you may end up a convert or you may just join the Meatless Mondays movement sweeping the nation.  Either way we hope to see many of you there!

Huge props go out to plantsanimals.org & Hood Lab for supporting the Neat Market.  Hood Lab may be the new “go to” location for the Neat Market so keep you eyes peeled for the next one.  We hope to see you there!
